“My Rusty Nail Moment” 2024

Glass sculpture inspired by Ken Kesey’s novel “Sometimes a Great Notion”. This work is about the moment I had to let go and accept my recent divorce.

Art & Words: Art Inspired by Poetry

April 6 - May 11, 2024

Celebrating National Poetry Month. Emerge Gallery is pleased to highlight the power of words and their connection to visual arts through the exhibition Art & Words. For as far back as the times of Plato, writers have been inspired by art to create poetry true to the form of the original work, yet adding their unique poetic perspective. Art & Words is encouraging artists to create a new work of art inspired by a poem of their choice. Inspiration for the artwork can be a classic, contemporary or original poem.

All styles and works on paper, fiber, paintings, photography, and small sculpture will be considered. Hudson Valley and NY Metro area artists are especially encouraged to submit work. This exhibition is open to US residents only.

Virtual tour and artist discussion: Sunday, April 7, 2024, 3PM live on gallery YouTube channel
